A gorgeous board with all the characteristic of Whitebait on full display here. A slightly darker-then-average colortone, it is very solid.

The Whitebait grain characteristics sometimes look like they are cracks or checks, but are very cool confluence in the grain. Look closely at the photos- this is a beauty! The unusual “eyes” you can see in the board are very cool “folding” in the grain. They are solid, and there is no cracking or checking in this piece (with one tiny exception being a check 3/4″ long on one face, right next to edge).
